Simon, James

(1851 -1932)
   German merchant and philanthropist. He helped to found the Hilfsverein der Deutschen Juden in 1901 and served as its chairman. He was an art collector and patron, and also financed archaeological expeditions to Jericho and Tel el Amarna.
